I have done 27 trips there over my life. If you want to see a lot of bears I would do the Nushagak or Alagnak and charter a fly out to the Brooks river bear preserve for sockeye. If you want good king salmon as well as halibut and lingcod I would do Sitka with Mike at World Class Sportfishing. It is the most beautiful part of Alaska. The Kenai is over rated and they can close the river at any time and you are out of luck. I think you will find most of the charters and lodges are already booked for this year but you can try.
