Robin, I drove by Towne Lake on the way home today. I'm not sure where the biggest open area is located in the park, maybe down by the baseball fields?

Or, what about across the street from the ball fields, McKinney High School has a big open lawn. Think anyone would care if we used it for a couple hours? It looked like there is a parking lot and an open section of grass that is away from the building.

What do you think about meeting at the high school?

This Saturday morning, July 28, starting at 10:00. The location will the Towne Lake Park in McKinney. We'll meet at the volley-ball courts, there is a parking lot there. We can meet at Culver's for lunch after if anyone is interested.

OK, I don't know the address for the park, but Towne Lake is visible from Hwy 75, it is located beside/behind the movie theater. (Robin has a map posted in one of his reply's.) If you are going north on 75, take exit #39. You'll turn right at a red light that has a set of cross streets with a creek in between. Turn right on the second street (I think it is called "Park View".) At the Stop Sign turn right again. The parking lot will be on the right and you should see the volley ball courts (sand) when you turn in. If you see the baseball fields, you will have gone too far.

Unfortunately, this park has a lot of trees, but if we run out of space we can cross the street and use the high school's lawn.

This will be very informal and everyone is welcome to join us.

Sorry I took so long to respond Rex. I don't see why we could not use the lawn at the high school if it came down to it. The worst they could do is ask us to leave.

Unless there are softball tournaments active then we ought to have space aplenty.

Hey guys it was nice to put a face with the names finally. I really enjoyed getting to try out several different rods, especially those 0 weights. I have been wanting one for a while, and I really want one now. I guess i'm gonna have to get on top of this rod building stuff.
