Both pics still look 10 times better than my neighbors' weed-infested jungles.

I usually walk out to my shop between 7:30 and 8 and the light on the grass makes it look awesome and deep green. Then about 2 hours later the sun is high, and you can see all the imperfections from mowing at 3/4" and it`s not nearly as green mad . My lawn isn`t level enough to mow that low and I`m in the process of raising to 1.25. I think I went to 1.5" at the end of the summer last year just because it got so hot. Surprised that my Tiff 419 is growing as much as it is with these 50 degree mornings. I took a video last year on 4-12-22 of it hailing on my lawn and I have much more green up this year than last year on this date and I`m on the same fertilize schedule as last year.

I would love to jump into reel mowing but I would need to do a lot of leveling too and that would be a huge project for me. For now, I'm still mowing on the lowest setting my Honda will go. I put a couple of new rear wheels, new blades and did my yearly tune-up and clean-up yesterday. She's looking pretty good for a 15-year-old machine.

FYI..... Honda is discontinuing their line of Mowers this year, so take good care of it. Still some in the big box store for now, but don`t know how long they will last. My Honda HRX217VKA 21 inch 200cc Self-Propelled Lawn Mower is on its 3rd season and will hopefully last a long time.

Wow, I haven't heard that. I guess the electric stuff is taking over? I've been tempted on going electric but so far my gas stuff is still going strong.

I swear your taking pictures of the random arse weeds i have in my front yard. Pre emergent didn’t seem to work this year so I’ve been spending a few hours a week out pulling them by hand

All broadleaf's except these two. If you're out of dormancy pretty well I would fertilize it pretty good, give it a week then the Image product I linked before will handle all those except these two. The first one here is king ranch blue stem, not sure the other, but it's some type of grass weed. Get 41% glyphosate and use a paint brush on those. You're going to have some damage there but a paint brush or bingo dauber will minimize it. I'm not too concerned about the second one, but you want to get the king ranch under control now. It's probably the worst weed we have. It will grow 10X faster than your grass, so if you miss some you will see the top growth stems well above your grass. Brush those stems with the 41% and you'll avoid doing damage to your turf.

I have been a little behind the yard applications getting over Covid from early April but now have fert down and today put out Tiger 90 Sulphur. Will follow the holiday fert schedule first one was Scotts Turf Builder on the St Augustine and Scotts Max on the Zoysia in the back. I will use a more balanced fert on the St Augustine going forward but probably stay with the Scotts Max on the Zoysia. All in all in pretty good shape at present. Probably start some fungus preventative next month and grub preventative as well.

We can deep dive into this. I'd pick one of the two and roll that way for front and party in the back. I didn't check prices, but if they are close, I'd go Green Max all day for both. I'd mix in a T13 for your Memorial Day or July 4th app though.

I need to treat my grass for nutsedge, and I’d also like to get some feet down ahead of the rains next week. Any reason I cannot do both applications on the same day?

You can do both. Assuming you're using a granular fert. I would spray the sedge first. Give it an hour or two to dry then go out with the fert.

This is a weed that showed up this year in some sod I laid 4 years ago on a berm I installed by my bar ditch. Haven`t had a weed issue till this year but they have finally arrived. Hit it with 2,4 D, Quinclorac and some Sertay (surfactant added) for the Poa that came up. After 11 days everything looks like it`s going to die but this weed in the picture. It looks stressed but probably not going to die. I watered the berm yesterday and used a Fiskars weed puller I bought a few years ago to pull at least 150 of these weeds. It works great with moist soil. Guess I`ll have to start applying a preemergent in the future.
