hire a guide and if you get skunked everyone can tell you that you do not hire a guide to catch fish, you hire a guide to learn.
what you learned is to hire a different guide next time

Fished Fork most of last week. It was pretty much beds or bust....I cranked and searched for fish off shore a lot with nothing. Not all coves/arms had them but when you found a few on beds you found a dozen, some paired up. They were spooky but catchable, the big girls roaming around were tough to get to go, but big fish are around. Last day I was there (Sunday) I finally got a few cranking points.....got a few froggin in the AM around some threadfin spawn too. Hopefully it changes for the better. Good luck if you're still there.

Everyday is different here it seems like so goes the weather !!!!!!
There are fish in many pockets that have 65 degree water and not so many in pockets with 60 degrees.
Flukes, frogs and Texas rigs have been good. If I have guys that can fish slow we throw a Carolina rig / TX Rigs on the points and the edge of the grass or flats going into a spawning area and catch them pretty good.
If I get guys that like to fish fast our numbers and size goes down !
The bass are not worried about anything right now but just getting the spawn done.

I'll be there in a couple of weeks. Looks like the lake keeps going up! Looking forward to it

LOL—-just spent 4 days there and haven’t been there in 3 months…weather has been crazy here last few weeks Helen Keller could find fish to catch there right now…?
Literally, our boat house has 4-5 beds on the boat dock with several boats in the cove working them…but they are all reacting different to baits..you just have to find the right ones
This cold front could change things this week

If i can get the time on it like I had back in the 90's I can re-learn it. It's kicked my rear end the last few times I've been on it. The biggest problem I'm having is getting the time to get there. Its changed so much in the past 20 years. Most of the places that produced fish for me back in the day are covered with piers. Those places had nice weed lines and shadow from timber growing along the edge of the water that would position the fish so you could find them this time of year. Yes I got skunked every once in a while back then but I had some really good days too.. The other thing I've noticed is water clarity seems to be completely gone, It's muddy all the time now, it used to have water clarity about like Lake Holbrook. I guess that's just a side effect of all the new development around the lake.

It was stained in the upper area we fished yesterday. Blue/black senkos t-rigged or wacky were working. Water temp was still 63-66.work the green grass areas. Hardly saw a bed and none were occupied.

I am not sure you are correct that "move ins" have destroyed habitat.. and they are as aware of the benefits of grass in the lake as anyone. They are not voting for it's removal. The docks are adding to the structure. many are brushed and provide shade , most people move to Fork to fish and probably the majority of them bass fish. Heck, my guess is the boat houses and docks (that are large and have boats sitting in them) provide the only place the bass can get away from the relentless fishing pressure from the bank beaters.

I haven’t ever been notified or informed to r.s.v.p. to the “bring your pitchfork” type meeting of evil homeowners to kill the grass on Fork.
