Coffin kind of looks like a storage locker with the exposed handle and strap hinges.

Shoulda seen what was in it. My curiosity woulda gotten the better of me. Not sure what I would of done after that though, suppose if there was a body in it tow it to shore and let the proper authorities know.

I have heard that, that happens a lot with older gravesites after big floods

Its just a shame anyway. I was just wondering how a wood casket would stay preserved that way. Do people still get buried in those things?

Looks like a very old style casket if it's real. Hard to believe it would hold together. Sure looks like one though and you can even see handles. However it could be faked, from Texas or from the flooding after the hurricanes in LA. Anyway, it is interesting. Looks like something homemade though.

Looks like a prop to me. This is the style usually used at haunted houses (I've built them before just for this purpose). Note the handle on the lid so it can be opened.
The "lid" is clearly plywood, and would not have lasted seconds if buried.
Creepy photo for sure, but I'd not read too much into it if i were you guys.
