You have a better chance of being hit by lightning than getting bitten by a venomous snake. The vast majority of bites are in the hands, and most of the remaining bites are below the ankle, so most good boots will protect you from a bite in most situations. Most venomous snakes are trying to avoid you, with the possible exception of water moccasins, which can be very aggressive.

I have used true timber gaiters when working with snakes and they worked fine. Most of the gaiters work, but can be stiff and uncomfortable if you walk long distances. A good high boot should be more than enough protection in most situations. I have stepped on a few venomous snakes over the decades and never had one penetrate my boot.

They sell rubber snake proof boots. It's what I've worn to go hog hunting in warmer weather over the years.

I had a pair of snake boots bought from Bass Pro. Can’t remember the brand. Biggest complaint is that they were uncomfortable to walk in and ended up giving me shin splints. When I fish the banks I am usually covering a lot ground so I ended up ditching them and sticking with my hunting boots.
