I asked a version of this question on here once before, but I'll be a little more specific this time. I have two friends to whom I owe a deep debt of gratitude. I want to get them a gift to thank them. I'm thinking of a budget of around $2k per friend. My initial thought is to get each an ounce of gold and tell them their friendship is worth its weight in gold or something like that. I want it to be something they can keep and that will last. I don't for instance, want to get them a rare bottle of bourbon which would get drank up and be gone. Any gift ideas that would make great heirlooms or something they'd be proud to own and remind them of the time they helped a buddy out in a time of need? What would you want?

I would consider an ounce of gold to be the nicest thing I’ve ever been given

I would take them on a trip somewhere. Memories last a lifetime.

This thread could go south in a hurry…

I’d suggest getting them some custom pocket knives or something.

I showed my neighbor your thread and asked his advice. He said the poetry part read “borderline ghey”. He never offered up a suggestion or anything. Just gave me back my iPad, walked in his garage and hit the button to lower the door. Good luck!

I've thought about this. It's in contention.

Thought about this one also Bob. One guy probably has 3 already. The other guy isn't a gun guy.
