I don't know your climate but I would think so. If it's actively grow and you're mowing already then go ahead and fert. If it's just now coming out of dormancy then wait a few weeks. My schedule is April-September.

10-4 thanks

Planning on this weekend. It's going to suck. Plus, I got to trim those shrubs way back and some others. This is the part of lawn care I absolutely hate, but the results are worth the hate.

Got it scalped and bagged, that was not fun. This was as low as my mower would go.

Pre-scalp (Admiring my pre-emergent job over my neighbors. The stonewall worked great, and I've had less than a dozen crabgrass that I've pulled and just spot-treated the broadleaf by hand.)

That looks great! What you hand pulled was Dallisgrass. Dallis goes dormant like turf grass and the same plant/clump comes back the next year. A ton of Dallis didn't go full dormant this year and stayed pretty green. Good part of that was the bermuda was dormant and the dallis wasn't so you could spray it with roundup and not hurt the bermuda.

I scalped last weekend too. And it SUCKED! I had a ton of green up already.

Dallisgrass! Thanks! I've been traveling for work for the past couple of weeks. Still trying to source some 1-1-1.

Collin County Feed and Seed stocks APF 13-13-13 for $35.00 per 50lbs.. APF doesn't have a sexy name or label, and you've probably never heard of it, but it's a quality fertilizer with Ammonium Sulfate based nitrogen source which it what you're looking for. You run that at 4lbs per 1000 in the front and anywhere from 6-7lbs in the back every 4 weeks and you will be banging.

Why fertilize heavier in the back?

He mentioned a few post ago that he was thinner and needed more fill in back there.

I called Collin County Feed and Seed and she said they have plenty of APF 13-13-13! I'll be heading that way this afternoon. I'm liking this rain we're getting, keep it coming.

Ok. Going on year 3 at this house and dammit Iโ€™m going to have a decent front yard
Scalpers the hell out of it yesterday and plan on reseeding the whole thing
Tired of half st Augustine and half Bermuda. Going to over seed with all Bermuda

Went with store bought Scottโ€™s Turf Builder
Good thing my front is only like 900 sq ft as that stuff is expensive

Just need it to warm up a little

An app of Potassium on dormant grass is pretty useless. Plus your area tends to be high on potassium anyway to the point you could just run a Nitrogen only fertilizer. I would be on the hunt for a good spray and pray company. Typically your mow and blow guys will be a separate company. Spray and prays don't want anything to do with mowing. I'll look around for you too.

Have you had a chance to see what you can find? Closest I have come so far is Emerald Lawns but one of my neighbors gave them a terrible review and said I would be getting the same junk service TruGreen is giving me.
