Something like this with an electrical component there in the city: You can hang blue tarps on it for privacy and take 'em down when there's severe weather in the area.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Yeah, I'm out on that look as well. I think if you had some foliage to break up those long horizontal lines it might look pretty cool. Maybe one of those "wall gardens" or what not. So basically disguise the look lol. It needs make up.

I've heard one of the benefits of the horizontal like in the pics above is that the boards can be replaced at a later date much easier and cheaper (on labor) than a traditional vertical design
With that said, I just don't like the way they look. Vertical is just too "normal" in my head so horizontal just doesn't feel right for some reason. We got an 8ft western red cedar put in last year.
