Something like this with an electrical component there in the city:

You can hang blue tarps on it for privacy and take 'em down when there's severe weather in the area.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Horizontal fences are the latest design element for yards. I use 5/4 x 6 x 12 cedar deck boards and set the post on 6ft centers. The post in the pictures are 2x6 rectangular tubing painted black. I capped the top of the fence with a deck board to cover the post.

I think if you had some foliage to break up those long horizontal lines it might look pretty cool. Maybe one of those "wall gardens" or what not. So basically disguise the look lol. It needs make up.

Do horizontal fences wrap over time?

Backyard comes with lifted 4x4 Diesel truck that will never see dirt.

Yeah, naybe. But why spend a lot of money on something you have to disguise.

I've heard one of the benefits of the horizontal like in the pics above is that the boards can be replaced at a later date much easier and cheaper (on labor) than a traditional vertical design

With that said, I just don't like the way they look. Vertical is just too "normal" in my head so horizontal just doesn't feel right for some reason. We got an 8ft western red cedar put in last year.
