Why would that be embarrassing?

Are you being facetious/sarcastic? I've never had a problem getting a latch to function on a livewell.

The nut on the back can be loose, I’ve seen it on lots of different boats- none of these boat companies make the latches.

Looks like a peanut. Offshore boat manufacturers have experience in making a boat that takes a beating. Also they should have plenty of experience in making it ride good in the rough stuff. Maybe the unique shaped hull gives it a great ride? They use the same flare in their offshore boats.

HBC makes very high end stuff. 39ft is their smallest. I can’t recall ever seeing one in the saltwater offshore fishing world. For Venice it would be priced significantly above the Freeman’s and Yellowfins that guides use on the top end. Captains have to pay the bills. Tough enough when a 42 Freeman rigged out is over $1MM. Someone willing to buy a several million dollar boat isn’t going to put up with much in terms of lack of quality. They have high end clients.

Lots of HCB’s in south Florida. The peanut comment is spot on, kinda like the Carolina flair they put on boats just less pronounced- should make for a very dry ride.
