Upgraded from a Live 9 to a Live 12. I used the same power cable that was already in place for my Live 9 and now I'm trying to find the inline fuse so I can replace the 3amp with a 5amp. For the life of me I cannot find the fuse location. This is on a 2018 ZX225. Fuse is not located near the unit and I am not finding it near the battery terminals. There are several inline fuses for my other accessories (all close to the batteries) but not for the power cable to the Lowrance. Please help!

Man I would look in behind the dash in the wiring, bet it's there. It's not handy there to say the least, but jimo, it is much better for your 12 live to have the fuse close to the unit as possible. That way it blows quicker if trouble happens.
Those inline fuses are a necessary evil, they just don't need them at the batteries first off, but the boat manufacturers need to do a better job locating them where we can get to those and it sure wouldn't hurt anything if they were labeled. I see these things behind the dash and/or bow panel all the time, like that makes changing a fuse a whole other experience lol.
With so much money and technology in the boats now, they really should go to a surface panel mount inline fuse. Yes it's going to cost more, spend the money for waterproof style while sourcing those too. What they market these boat at $$$ They can do that, instead they crimp the inline fuse in behind the dash and tie-strap it with the wiring. You will most likely find it behind the dash and will probably have to cut tie-strap to get to it.

My skeeter is a little older, but mine has a fuse block/distribution block under the dash. All the graphs, pumps, lights, etc are clearly labeled and have 5amp fuses for the graph circuits.

Thanks guys. I'll check again behind/under the dash. I may have missed it the first time I looked.....like Rowdy said, a bunch of wires all zip tied together behind the dash but I didn't see a fuse in all that mess. Steez, my older Skeeter ZX190 had the fuse block and was easy to manage. I miss that as this newer boat doesn't have it.
