c'mon early teal season!!!!! my friend of 20 years has a ranch out in eagle lake. best goose hunting in the world. the duck hunting is unbelievable as well for the first couple of weeks of the season. we usually take our teal limit in about 10-15 minutes or two flights, whichever comes first. maybe we can work something out some time.

awesome pics im ready to go back offshore

going offshore today, about 60 miles out of surfside. seas are under a foot and shrimp season is open. we should be able to get into some tuna. be back later with pics.

great day 70 miles out of surfside yesterday. we checked the 66 mile bouy before we left and it was reading .58! under a foot seas! it was like glass all the way out. never found the tuna that we were looking for, but we didnt need them.

all three of us got our limit on each cobia, red snapper, and amberjack. that was all done before 1pm. we then hit the grassline and got into some chicken dorado and one nice bull dorado. hooked into some barracuda, i caught a ton of blue runners on my fly rod for bait, and then later in the day caught my first cobia on a fly rod. i was going for a monster, but a smaller one beat it to the fly, and from there it took an hour to get the little guy in. this is a pic i took on my cell phone, but i will post the real pics later. if you look under the logo on the fish board, you can see a five pound bag of shrimp hanging up there. we traded a shrimp boat 3 circle hooks for the shrimp. my buddy thought that was a good catch, and worthy of hanging for the pic

i had a cobia that had to be at least 50 inches chasing my fly. that little one was persistant and i couldnt keep it away from him. oh well, it was cool to catch a cobia on the fly, if i would have caught the big one, he probably would have spooled me, and i would have lost $80 worth of orvis wonderline.

ill get him next time.
