Eggs are $6 a dozen so why not $2k guide trips?
If I want the eggs I pay. If I want that trip, I would pay. If I dont want the eggs at that price, I dont buy them. If I dont want the trip at that price... I dont buy it.
Thats all.

Gotta love the comments from the guys running $50,000-$100,000 boats complaning about $2000 guide trips. This is not to start an argument. Just stating an opinion........ I think with his attitude and price raise, he priced his self out of alot of business. Two things Ive noticed. Josh has gotten very arrogant over the last year since he caught his big fish. The other is a statement that was made by him and Gary Dobyns about being booked 60 days straight. I know for a fact most of January he was not booked and not even on the water alot of days. Now into February he has Gary in the boat one day and 2 so called cancelations so far, and the month just started. Which leads to me saying he may have priced his self out. I think $2k is laughable, honestly. Especially when you are just watching him almost all day. I really feel if he was coming in around $1k a day, he would be booked pretty solid and stay more consistent with his bookings. I also feel he missed a golden opportunity last year to make ALOT of money doing what he was doing. And not from guiding. I'm looking at this from a business stand point. Not just a fishing one.

My .02 on this
Think of it like this...if you look at this like a business.
I can hire a company to come and do a task at my house for $500. Let's say it's plumbing and installing a toilet. These people have been trained and put in their time and make it look easy. This equates to me like a crappie, bass, striper, guide. They put you on fish to get quick bites and get your limit.
OR
I can go through the training myself to be a plumber and get certified for thousands of dollars. I can now feed my family by helping myself or others. This is what JJ is doing. He's teaching you how to become great at fishing with FFS. You will have the tools / knowledge to go out and do this on any lake moving forward.

If I had the extra money to shorten the learning curve --- I would spend it.

To the guys who defend it, why haven’t y’all booked your trip yet? If it’s a great deal, what are you waiting on?
I know several guys who spend mucho money on hunting, none of them would spend it fishing. In my opinion, it’s viewed totally different by outdoorsmen.

There are folks that will pay much more than that to shoot a high B&C score deer on a high fence deer ranch with a guide so I feel sure some will pay $2k…but I am picking that will price out the majority. IMHO most just will not or cannot justify that kind of cost.

Ken is right. Guys spend 10k on a big deer. DDs are hard to come by for most fishermen. The FFS has for sure made the big ones easier to catch at certain times if the year. JJ can charge what he likes. Maybe he gets booked, maybe not. People are willing to pay crazy amounts of money for their hobbies. Older 2 stroke quads and 3 wheelers are selling for prices that would’ve been unimaginable 2-3 years ago. I’m sure there are some guys that have spent countless dollars chasing big fish. That being said, there are plenty of guys now that seem to be really good with the FFS. No way I would pay that kind of money to get one cast at a fish and watch the guide catch them all day. Plenty of other guides that have clients catching fish. Pretty sure one of them had a client catch a SAL just a couple of days ago.
