I just finished reading a story in our twice weekly newspaper about S&H Green stamps. Boy did that bring back memories. I'm sure several of you remember those days. Collecting the stamps, licking and pasting them into the green stamp book (50 points per page) and then fighting with everyone over what you are going to get when you redeem them at the green stamp store. You could get any number of things when you redeem them. You could get a TV, tools, mixer, iron, pots, pans, swing set, wagon, bike, etc. Usually the stuff was good quality unlike what they would hand out today. It was one of the early reward programs. You would get the stamps for purchases made at the grocery store, gas stations and other retailers. Good times!

We also collected Gold Bond stamps to redeem for prizes.

My grandmother collected green stamps from the Piggly Wiggly. I used to help her paste them.
Anyone remember the huge raffle at the Sheriff's Posse Arena in Cleburne that was once a year? She always drug me along to try and grab the hundred dollar bill off the calfs tail.

My grandmother would save them for me to paste into the booklet. I learned the sponge trick to make the process go faster.

Mom had stacks of books I don't know what she redeemed them for I just remember books of green stamps rubber-banded together.

Early 80’s at Vance AFB. Green stamp bowling on Saturday night. If 3 colored pins came up(1-2-3) and you got a strike you’d win 20,000. Only saw one winner. Good times
