My mother in law would make these. She was the best cook ever. I miss her so much😢 I made some for dinner today 😋. Pat them down with flour, salt and pepper. Brais all sides. Remove from hot pot, Saute your carrots, Celery, 2 slivers of garlic, onion till onion is clear. Put your tail pieces back into pot with veggies cover and put in preheated oven ( 350°) for 2hrs or till meat is tender. In a different pot boil your egg noodles. Once your noodles are done, and drained put noodles in a casserole dish then put your ox tails and veggies on the noodles. This is one of my favorite recipes.

Oxtails look good.
Your water ... not so much.
I'm glad there are wine drinkers in this world ..... it saves more beer for the rest of us. Hopper

Looks great. When I ran a meat market Ox Tails were really cheap and now, they are really expensive. I saw them priced almost 10 bucks a pound a while back @ Albertsons.

My mother in law would tell us that here parents would buy the whole tale for 25 cents. That was back in the 40s. Now you only get like 5 pieces for almost 15 bucks!

Beef shanks, short ribs and Oxtails all used to be about 3 bucks a lb. when I left the grocery business in 2006. They are 3x that much now. I blame most of it on the "Food Network" and YouTube.. People see it somewhere and want to try making it. I`m guilty.

Made a huge pot yesterday. Ice storm weather guessers have been predicting for 3 days looks like it may finally arrive today and as the soup gets better each day food will not be an issue. Stay safe and warm.
