FFS may save the resource. I watch people chase fish for hours and not catch anything. I’ve been with a couple of guides that specialize in it and we saw a ton of fish but caught few.

He claims to be a "master angler", but has not had a top 10 at the pro level since May of 2002. he is totally irrelevant with his fishing.

Plus he is like 61 and had small children, no wonder he seems suicidal.

I know when it comes to hunting you can over harvest a property pretty easily if you don't abide by regulations, but there is no catch and release when you are hunting.
There are slot limits, and creel limits, so unless negative effects start to be felt across the board, then I see little reason to get alarmed.
As someone mentioned, there is too much money from sponsors of all fishing related equipment manufacturers, to ever think anything from a fishing hook to a bass rig would ever be outlawed.
People who agree with him will continue to, and those who don't, don't, and never will!

Randy is funny to watch to see what he is going to complain about next. Randy B. is worse than a "Karen"...LOL

Somehow this guys videos show up on my front YT page. I click on them and listen to his opinions. I have opinions of my own which differ from his. I share those opinions on a fishing forum that exist solely for sharing fishing related opinions.

I know a few people IRL who pick an arbitrary place to feel uncomfortable about progress. I think it's when they stopped wanting to keep up with it. Like the other technological advances in fishing and bass fishing in particular, if it drives interest in fishing it's going to drive interest in conservation. Prior generations kept everything they caught, whatever size. They sometimes almost wiped out populations of wildlife species because of over harvesting. Conservation today is far and away the most discussed topic (outside of the actual fishing itself) when it comes to fishing. People want to know there are going to be fish stocked and limits in place based on wildlife departments' surveys.

So in my opinion, the question isn't about technology harming fishing, but about it harming competitive fishing. Like any disruptive advancement, it will change the game but the game will still be played. I don't feel that a lake historically known for producing stringers of crappie will suddenly be barren because the people who could afford FFS farmed them all dry. The bass fishing world will either stomach or vomit out advancements based on collective appetite.

For those of us that can’t afford FFS, tournaments have become a thing of the past.
