I'm afraid that they will end up dropping East tx, and just have the Southeastern at Rayburn/Toledo every month.

I called this week too checking if there were any co-angler spots, only 2 boaters registered and 9 co-anglers were registered eek, cedar creek next week was not much better and also way heavy on co-anglers. Crazy to see how low the turnout is now I remember fishing these when they were bassmaster weekend series and always pulled 60 boats, sometimes 70. Not sure if this just reflects the state of the economy or tourney anglers in the region are just aging out and not being replaced by youth, sad deal.

I fished it a couple of years ago as a non boater on Palestine and the turnout was a round maybe 30/30 roughly. The following year I was going to fish the whole northeast Texas regional as a boater and I talked to the guy I fished with to see id he was fishing it to and he said due to a rule change; I believe it was something to do with payouts, he wasn't fishing the ABA Opens anymore and was going to Media Bass. I decided to go BFL instead but starting a business and the economy kept me parked on that too. Right now it's looking like I'll get to do most of the BFL Okie division but not all. Even though I live in Texas the Okie division is just closer for me.

I wish the BFL's would fish Cedar Creek and lakes around it, I noticed they are fishing Pines this year, can't every remember them doing that before.

I agree with you on bfl. If they would come a little further west. Every year it's Rayburn and toledo for each event. There is plenty of other lakes in tx that would have an amazing turn out besides the same 2 right next to each other.

Agreed that is why I'll be fishing the Okie Division. It's just closer for me. I wish they'd add a BFL division just for northeast Texas. With the ties that BFL has over ABA I think it would be a very viable as a business decision for MLF and the fisherman in this region of the state.
