Me and my son are doing a split trip to Picachos and El Salto in mid March. This will be our first time down there, fishing 2 1/2 days at each lake. From the reports people catch 50 - 100 fish per day, based on that we would like some advice on how much tackle to bring.
How many bags of soft plastics, 10' worms, Brush Hogs, Lizards, Senkos, etc.. should we take?
What is the best size worm weights and how many of each do you take?
What is the best size and type of line to take?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Ken

Lots of Senko (de mayo as the guides say), some lizards, some mag flukes, buzz baits, 1/2 oz weights(Heavy Texas rig will get the job done no need to be fancy), 4/0 ands 5/0 hooks, a few rattle traps, a few popping baits, a few spinner baits, and reels with 15 and 20lb line.
See you on the lake and have a great day!

At Picachos you'll easily have 50 bass by lunch. I second the senko type baits, less hangups and it's plenty brushy. I had the best luck on the bigger sized Yum Dingers in watermelon/pearl. Went through about 80 per day.

Senkos and Mag Lizzards - white spinner bait and a spook also
Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

Same baits you use here but put a little bit of habanero sauce on them.

Bring some kind of superglue so you can repair old used baits if you start to run out. The Bass in Mexico donโt care if your baits are brand new or have been glued back together a few times.

Zoom magnum lizards in watermelon and watermelon red, figure on 30 a day, chartreuse dipping die. I take 4 reels spooled with 15# fluro and 3/8 oz tungsten weights. Senko o In the same colors. A few bags of 10โ worms and 1 oz wobble heads if you tell your guide on Picachos you want to fish for bigger fish.

Been down three times now, I learned the 10XD crankbait was the ticket for larger bass, overall. Lots of work, but getting a bunch over 6, up to 10+, was worth it. Bring a rope lure retriever, they aren't cheap and lots of trees and nets to contend with. Funny, you don't even feel the 2 pounders, the lure is so hard to retrieve. The guides can make a difference, and the better ones cost extra, but know their stuff. Personally, I like the bigger baits, catch fewer, but bigger overall. Top mostly, or lipless, blades or deep cranks for me.

Michael I think I recognize that bait Lunker Punker. It's the wooden one, wish they still made them in wood, plastic ones don't sound the same. Got one 7" and one 9" left... wood lures get worn out. Anyone have an extra one hit me up, I'm in the market, my 7" is not long for this world! Got this nice lunker at the dam, and then next cast one twice it's size nailed it and ran down into a tree before I could blink. Was sure it'd of been my first DD, Bummer.

Thank again!
Do you fish the Senko's wacky style or t-rigged?
