Now that you can somewhat observe them and their actions with the new FFS units?

The bigger they are the more they tend to stray away when the boat gets close. Fishing pressure definitely has an effect on how they react to boats. After they hear the sonar ping and trolling motors so much they know its something to get away from

Their brain is the size of a pea. I don’t think they think.

Playing with Livescope I've had big bass, I'm talking JJ big follow my lures right up to the boat before turning away. 3 different transducers just a pinging away and they would get within a few feet before turning tail.

FFS? Sight fish 1X in an aluminum boat and bang around and report back. You won't need FFS to make a conclusion.
Grateful for every sunrise and sunset I get to witness. - Jason

I have seen fish haul [censored] towards a boat on plain. I think they like the aerated water. Definitely does not spook them

Naw…boats are a normal part of their environment…snagged a bait in a tree once and troll motored over and got the bait and as I looked in the water to start to back out I seen a bass and completely washed him out with the TM…waited a minute and threw in the mud cloud and caught the fish…

Falcon Lake I was throwing a 6XD up onto a rock shelf that topped out at 5-6 fow and crankin it down the ledge. Got it hung after the first two or three cranks in a rock and started the banjo process as I slowly moved toward it. It never came loose, so eventually I was right on top of it (5 fow) and as soon as I popped it loose a 10.22 smoked it. Mind you, this was 2012 when the lake was covered in boats and also during a BC tourney. Not saying it doesn't bother most of them- but I am saying I have seen it not bother them at all. I always run a 52" troller and it couldn't have been a couple feet from that bait and fish when she hit.

I think there are exceptions to the rules. I have witnessed fish running from the boat as I approached on the troller and I have had fish chase my lure to the troller and eat it right in front of me. I caught an 8.5 one spring in No Name at Fork that came off a bed and was flaring her gills and acting aggressive toward the big white MG troll motor. I dropped a (back then) Slug-Go on her head with 4 feet of line off my rod tip and she ate it. I had a guy running about 50 mph run between me and the edge of the grass I was fishing in 6 FOW. I cussed at him as he went by and threw literally into his prop wash and caught a 9 pounder. Last week I watched a three separate fish swam away as my green pumpkin jig descended towards them while they were sitting next to a large tree in 15-18 FOW. No rattles on the bait and I watched the fish and the jig as it fell toward them on FFS. When the bait was 4-5' above them they swam off. Never would have thought a jig & craw would spook a 6-8 pound fish but I saw it happen 3 times.

I had my boat pulled up on shore at lake Texoma. I started the boat to let it warm up while I tied on a sassy shad. I had 3 ft of line out working the bait back and forth beside the boat to check the action . A 2# bass swims out from under the boat to grab the lure. Motor noise didn't seem to make any difference.
