At night bass are the dumbest fish in the water. They just lay there and never move unless the moon is out, they get a little skittish then.

When they wanna eat I think you can hardly do any wrong. When they don't wanna eat though... I've heard some guys are resorting to turning the FFS away from the fish after they've located them and made the cast to avoid bombarding them with pings at the critical decision-making moment for the fish.

This is true. In fisheries management it is called vulnerability and its a genetic disposition in which some fish are more prone to bite a lure over others. It is a genetic trait that is passed down from generation. So, if you want to call it smart vs stupid, I think you could make that argument.

Here is an article regarding this.

If bass had the eating habits of people they'd all be 14+ pounds.

Not necessarily...bass swim most of their lives. Therefore they are always active and burning calories 98% more than humans.

Bass in Bastrop are stupid for hitting the underside of the boat when they are schooling.

Haven't FINKED lately but boat noise probably does not make a difference. Lake Fork is living proof of this theory. If it did, nobody could catch a bass there.

My friends kid smoked both of us one day playing his video game while he has a worm hanging over the side of the boat, barely in the water. The closest thing I ever saw to a bass literally jumping in the boat.

I have bass act like my boat was nothing at all and other times they swim away like missiles.

Always hated it when I'm bank fishing and a jet ski go over the area I'm fishing with a massive wake. Would be convinced all the fish would be scared off.

I've had that happen. Both of us can see the buoy. No Wake. With it being there because of a rental boat dock full of expensive [censored].

Didn't matter. This fool kept doing donuts.

I didn't find it effected the fish.

When folks launch a boat from the ramp. They stir up bait fish. Don't get that close to the boat but cast into the wake as it idles off. The boaters think your nuts until the results happen.

I personally have found that when a jet ski, pontoon boat of another bass boat goes by the action picks up. I may be one of the very few guys that look forward to traffic going by.
I will say that I do detest a Wake Boat, they are the worse thing under the sun for fishing. Those waves can have you crashing into docks, rocks and the shore very easy.
