I'm looking for what do you wear when winter fishing in N TX? I was looking at the BOREAS Floating Ice Fishing Suit but was scared something for ice fishing may be to much for this area. But I don't want to be cold either. Give me you thoughts and recommendations.

Layer up with a good Gor-Tex suit on top.
- I am old; so I like the pants and coat type for shore visits. Ha..
- Get the kind that floats you if you fall in. You want be sorry.
- Warm feet and hands are a must. Gloves have alway presented a problem for me.

Insulated overalls. If you get hot. Fold the top down and tie the sleeves around your waist. Wear a nice long sleeve shirt. T-shirt under that or a tank top.

Decent gloves and a pocket warmer. Toboggan cap.

layering is the only good way in this climate, a lot of days you can start at less than freezing and be in the 50s or 60s by lunch.

fleece with good gore tex most days and add good long johns for all day cold is how I do it.

A warm robe, house shoes, fireplace going good, and an Irish coffee or hot cop of sake does the trick for me. I'm retired. I can wait for the perfect day.
