No the 6.4 is an international engine.

Before Navistar Ford used a couple international Harvester engines, the 6.9idi and 7.3idi.

I know the 6.0 and 7.3 were also built as a commercial engine but their electronics and setup was much different than the Ford engines. In general they were lower rpm and higher torque.

The 5.9 Cummins was built to be a tractor motor but when they did not use it for that purpose it was offered as a truck engine. Ford was offered it before Dodge but they declined.

The 6.4 was also a Navistar / International and not built by Ford. Only the 6.7 is Ford's

My 03 / 5.9 Cummins has 164000 miles on it and I have no plans of getting another one anytime soon. I`m always afraid of someone hitting me and totaling it and I have to buy another one. This almost happened 2 years ago when a woman rearended me at a red light while she was on her phone. Totaled her car and luckily my receiver hitch with a 2" ball save my a$$. It was the 2nd time a woman had rearended me. I got a new bumper and a tailgate. You could barely tell I had been hit.

Toss up between the Toyota V6 Turbo or GM 3.0 Diesel. I'll cross this road when I have to part ways with my 05 Duramax, but she's still running strong.

I just went down to the Valley yesterday and picked up our 2012 F-250 King Ranch 4x4, with the 6.7L diesel. That truck now has 219K miles on it. She pulled down 17 something mpg doing 70 to 75 (whatever the limit happened to be) on the highway. That was about 360 miles. Dunno what I'm gonna do with it. Have the wife's 2018 F-150 King Ranch, diesel, and my 2018 F-350 diesel. Gonna try to talk to the wife about selling either hers or the 2012 I guess.

Put it online for $19500 and watch it pull away the next day.

If I was getting new I would probably buy a gasser.

Diesel is about 50% higher than regular gas right now and I'm afraid that it will stay that high.

Problem is another vehicle means higher insurance as well.

Diesel, always wanted one just couldn't' justify it, still can't but I got a '22 Limited RAM and love it. I tow 10kish a couple times a month and the boat. Mileage is crazy good compared to my old '09 5.4 Ford FX4. Top all around is 23.9mpg and I get 18mpg towing the trailer at 70mph. Once my free oil changes are over, I'll do them myself along with the fuel filters. Probably the last truck I'll ever buy, but who knows

I got one each, a F150 gasser, great truck, and. F350 Diesel. Gasser for general use, diesel for hauling my tractors, hay, cattle etc. I prefer driving the F150.

Although I voted diesel, it would have to be one of the older gens before they came out with all this DEF carp. Everywhere I go, people ask me to buy my truck. I just tell them that truck will be my casket, as it's going to the grave with me. Had a kid in Homey D parking lot come up to me and offer me $10K cash right then. No deal. It has more sentimental value than (just about) any cash offer. It was the last half year they made these old Dodge's with that motor.
