I'm a lightweight so I'd pick the Tarpon 140 .. at 28 inch beam it will be much easier to paddle distance and through the surf.. For a bigger person.. say 230 lbs and up, I'd look for a used Tarpon 160 (discontinued) for offshore.. for inshore fishing the Ride would be fine. Just my opinion... never owned either one but have fished from all three..
