Yep for sure, if you got the money to burn, the diesel will pull like there is no tomorrow. It only hurts when: you buy it, fill it up, have the fuel filters changed or do any service work at all on it!

I've got a 2020 F250 with the 6.2 gasser... Yes it's overkill but if the wife kicks me out I wanted the option of being able to put a truck camper in the bed... I get 14 on the highway and 11 pulling the 21XRS... Wouldn't want another truck and I drove them all while I worked (and I mean all of them)... If I was to buy again it be the Ram 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi... Dan

I did notice my F250 goes through some serious def. Way more than my old duramx.

I noticed that too. My '20 seemed to go through DEF almost twice as much as my '13 did.

I always hear people complaining about DEF, and the cost. We run Ram/Cummins and anytime I'm in town I try to top off my DEF at the truck stop and it will take like $20 to fill it ALL the way up and I don't do that often at all.

I’ve had both a 7.3L F250 and a Tundra.
The ford excelled on the road, hills while towing were a breeze to hold your speed. You’d just hear the turbo whistle a little and hold speed all the way. Got around 16 mpg while towing. (Diesel)
The Tundra will flat pull the axles out from under the boat on takeoff. I have a ZX225 and usually take off from a stop light as fast as traffic around me without having to floor it. Requires more throttle and a downshift to hold speed in hills while going down the road. About 12 mpg while towing.

F150 with 3.5 EcoBoost pulls 22 Majek Extreme just fine. Plenty of power. 10 to 11 mpg. Normal 21.

Without trailer brakes, which you don’t want on a saltwater trailer, stopping it is the issue.

Average half tons with the larger motors pull a boat pretty good. 3/4 to 1 ton diesel is better.

It'll pull perfectly a lot of weight. Now if those turbos begin to fail, it is a dog to get off the line or to pass anyone!!!

I just bought a 2023 GMC Sierra AT4. It has the 3.0 Duramax in it. I get 26-28 mpg on the highway, 21 or so in the city. Pulling the boat I get high 14's. That's 25% better across the board than the V8 Silverado I had before. Diesel is about 25% more than gasoline. With DEF and the more expensive oil changes, it's not a wash, but it's not terrible. For sure the 3.0 pulls vastly better than the V8. That's my 2cents

Got a ‘17 F350. Deleted with a 100 HP tune. 20-21 mph on the highway post delete and tune. Love the diesel, buy old enough to delete and drive it till the wheels come off.
Tundra is way overrated.

It's only a good cast if you catch a fish...

You don't need a diesel for pulling a boat. Just too expensive in todays fuel prices.

it's a 5.7 , and they have been building those for a long time . my mechanic ( 35+ years in the Biz ) swears by these and wouldn't touch any other Truck . His second choice is the older Tundra's as he isn't seeing any of the new versions since they are all still under warranty . He see's a ton of the Fords with the older diesel issues and lots of the 6 and 8 speed GM's tranny issues

Just kidding with you. I have the same. Can stretch it to 20MPG on the highway and generally 12-15 in town not puling anything. Get 11-13 pulling a boat.

I dont have experience with the F 250 but ordered a 2023 TRD Pro Tundra Hybrid. Ill report on it when it comes in and I start towing the Cougar with it. Toyota switched to all V6's in their Tundras this year so we will just have to see. Im thinking theres going to be a whole of shifting going on when I tow something. Should be interesting.
