Among the people who have reported seeing mountain lions, who has said anything about a "breeding population"? Why is the subject being changed from random mountain lion sightings to whether there are thriving populations? Obviously not a large concentration of cats in East Texas. From what I've read known breeding populations are in South Texas, Big Bend, Davis Mountains and into SW Hill Country. The S. Tx population is in decline and has a problem with genetic diversity. This info is postulated because of studies via trapping and radio collaring. There's everything that cougars need in East Texas with an abundance of prey and plenty of good cover.

Not sure where Van Zandt County is but looks like East Texas vs areas west of I-35. Someone should tell this cat to go back west of I-35. I've seen this picture hundreds of times. It's already been posted on here's. It was investigated and debunked. It was photo shopped.

Man o' man I was pulling for TCU. What a beat down.
The only beat down worse is this topic.
Have you ever had a girlfriend who won't shut the "H" up no matter how many times you slap her?
That's this topic.
It talks back over and over, no matter what evidence or rational reasoning and thought is presented.
It's time to break up with the chick! All the best to the forum members! IN65

Official cause of death was just an animal. TP&W and the USDA found zero evidence of a Mt lion.

I have no idea where to find "official documentation" because it's a fake photo. It was discussed in a group I'm in. TP&W biologist said it was a fake. You can look at the TP&W map and there are no confirmed sightings in the last ten years in that county. Obviously if it was a real photo it would show up on the map

Obviously if it was a real photo it would show up on the map You can also look at the TP&W map and see that there have been confirmed sightings in Wood County, where I saw a mountain lion in broad daylight near the bank at Lake Holbrook. I didn't see his family and I am not claiming there was a breeding population, so there is no need to go down that road again. I saw a lone mountain lion. Mountain lions have been confirmed in multiple East Texas counties. I'm not sure why it is so important to argue that they are not there.

Mountain lions killed in Texas 1983 -2005 (counties per TPWD): ![[Linked Image]](http://lh4.ggpht.com/_LlfXWxcpJyU/Sk78UsXz34I/AAAAAAAAM84/uy4qGR4F5HM/s1600/texasshowingcounties4.png) Not sure if there are pics of those in East Texas as according to some they don't occur there. Not sure how those counties reported phantom lion deaths. LinkyThat map is not accurate. I know of one that was killed in Burnet County and one in Llano Cnty during that time frame.

I'll also defer to TPWD as they are always correct and current and forthcoming with all their info on wild felines in Texas. Carry on !

I can't see exactly what county that is. I wasn't looking at that map. I was referring to the confirmed sightings map from TP&W. I'm not familiar with the map with the dots
