Anything and everything auto parts related is an issue right now. Good luck finding an OE part not on back order and a lot of the aftermarket parts are in short supply. Oil is no different.

Interesting. I haven't had any problems with the minimal stuff I buy. In the past 3 months I have bought fuel filters, oil, DEF, wiring harnesses, wheels, and tires.

This thread is 6 months old. I was in WalMart looking for antifreeze a week ago.
The shelves were full of diesel oil and filters.

Plenty of DEF too, seems like it was the typical doom and gloom rumors.

It may not look like it to the naked eye because it’s happening slowly, but I can tell you things like conventional motor oil, many filters, a lot of genuine OE parts, and even some aftermarket parts. I’ve noticed a lot less gear oil on the shelves. It really starts to get bad when looking for power sports, ag, or boat parts and fluids. The last 4-5 times I needed some different types of parts for my different maintenance projects I’ve really had to hunt down parts.

Are these projects quite a bit older? If so, the availability of older parts no longer being available has been going on for awhile. Even automobile manufacturers only have to have parts available for a limited time. Just seems to be how the world turns, out with the old.
