I am looking for a basket case bike. Preferably British, Triumph, BSA, Enfield, etc. Japanese and others OK too but want something older. Not really a Harley guy. Barn find would be good too. If it’s been outside for 30 years, it all needs to be there. I know this is a long shot , but I want a retirement project so I figured I would start looking.

1983 Honda V45 Magna. Not a big project because a lot has been done already. Needs a front tire...it is cracking. Haven't started in a few months, may need carbs cleaned but they were rebuilt less than a year ago. Also rebuilt clutch slave and replaced clutch master at that time. Brakes have less than 100 miles on them. Much more done to it, just stopped riding. Inspection and tags way out of date. Has saddle bags and disc brake lock and helmet lock. $2750

I will pay a finders fee for the right bike. I don’t want a running, ready to ride, bike. I want one from a shed out on a farm that will be tossed out someday.

Do you want an old bike?

On FaceBook Marketplace ~~ 1952 Puch sears allstate puch

"Two (2) Sears Allstate Puch 125. The one w/o engine is an early model 1952-54 with a twist shift. The one w/engine is a later model (?) Both are in very rough condition."

Another one on Facebook ~~ Don't know if it's still available.

Motorcycle - 1971 Triumph TR6R Chopper Basket Case - blue TX title, yes numbers match engine, Lower end is in good shape; it has been stored in SAE50w oil. Cam lobes are in good shape as well. The original 650 cylinders come with it but they would need honed if you wanted to keep it original. It comes with a Morgo 750cc big bore kit complete with pistons and rings. All the pieces are there to assemble a complete bike except for a taillight. The head has been rebuilt with stainless steel valves, so its ready for unleaded fuel. The frame is homemade with no numbers. 2 sets of forward controls, one set it custom made using 20mm dummy shells for foot pegs and 50 cal. for shifter and brake pegs. I have too many projects to get to this one, so I am letting it go. Everything I have that is Triumph goes with it. Asking $2,000.00 cash or cashier's check. Message to coordinate time to come see.

In a different post there was a 1968 Mustang Motorcycle basket case.

Thanks DnT. I am not a Facebooker but I will see if the wife will let me look. Seems to be some opportunities. Wish the Triumph was not a home built chopper frame.

1967 Triumph Bonneville. Has compression but unsure what exactly is wrong with it. Haven't tried starting it in about a month. Been parked inside garage. It's only had one owner previous from us. Don't have time to put into fixing it. Need it gone. Asking $1,200 obo..inbox with questions and offers. Serious inquiries only.

When looking for old bikes...facebook market place has been the best place for me to find bikes near and far...then there is the bull$hiat factor or folks advertising junk as good...sounds like you want a project tho so I highly recommend FB marketplace. The right bike would be worth a short drive I would imagine.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.
