I have a collection of stretchy plastic toys I use for tying up stuff, but this may be the best color and price I’ve found yet. $1.25 for 84 tentacles that make great squirmy worm flies and jigs. This was at Dollar Tree but I’ve found stuff at Walgreens and Dollar General too. I’ll add some pics later when I get some of these tied on to a hook.

Well, I'll be. I've taking strolls down the toy section on the way to the fishing isle. Haven't seen anything but was mainly looking for bug shapes. What an oddball toy that'd work.

Thank You for posting that.

as a kid I would make floating bass lures out of the old button head clothes pins,...color them with magic markers,
I caught a bunch of bass and bluegills from the banks when the grownups were out in the boats.

It’s not my best work but it’ll do for field testing. I’ll blame the poor tying on the near freezing temps in my garage and the fact that I haven’t tied anything in months.

Can find lots of good stuff at Hobby Lobby and Michael's for tying flies, lot cheaper than fly shops or Basso Pro.

Went to Dollar Tree yesterday and the one I found looked different than the one in the picture, it had way more thingy things on it. Was a $1.75 walk out. They had the color like the one in the picture and a purple one.

That looks pretty good. Those little rubber arms also make a pretty good san juan worm, FYI.

Those little spiny things are a pain to keep straight on the hook when attaching them.

I used to tie flies with clippings after grooming my mare Katy. Her hair was super silky, may have been the Royal King blood in her. The rest of my horse's manes and tails were too coarse.
