Tell the audience how many hundreds of dollars you’ve spent on A-rig gear and how many fish you’ve caught with them… popcorn

Return on investment is not something us fisherman should EVER consider! We lose every time!

#Full send! bang

Fact yes

It’s about the fishing not the investment fish cheers

Be sure and keep your receipt for the Yum-brellas, if you don’t have a DD within the first couple trips i, it’s definitely the a-rigs fault. Using an A-rig is like shooting fish in a barrel.

I got ruined on one last year. It was my first time to give it a try and 30 minutes later I had caught 8 over 6lbs and best 5 went for 37lbs. Fished it for two days afterwards and only had 4 more bites and a sore shoulder.

I’m with you, don’t even keep one on the boat…

The 5-6 I've thrown have ended up on timber somewhere, irretrievable. Not a fish yet. And not an exaggeration.

Exactly what I suspected.
I suppose I should also purchase a half dozen GoPros to scatter around my boat and person to capture all the nonstop action. Oh man! This is starting to add up. Good thing it’s Christmas!

I don't use them. Don't do any good in a foot of water around cypress trees and Lilly pads with 6" of visibility.

Unfortunately you’re a little late to the party, they’re not magic like they once were. It’s fun to catch 2 or 3 at a time tho. Also you don’t need an 8’ rod to fish them.

I’ve never made a cast with one.

Haven't tried it yet, realized after looking at the weight of one of these and some of the swim/glide baits, I needed to go rod and reel shopping before jumping off into either. Most everything I own is set up to throw lures less than one ounce. I figure if I tied any of this stuff on to any of my current rods I'd just break something instantly.

My max weight is 1/2 ounce. The average is 1/4 for the heavy stuff.

1/8 ounce on the rest.

The A-Rig is a saltwater concept in a freshwater environment. I've seen them for sale at Academy. Read for a few hours about what it is and what the guy was thinking. Personally, it's a high maintenance and expensive, saltwater trolling rig.... Folks are throwing at big mouth.

With there being more simple ways of running multiple baits.

I use a 7ft 9 inch rod with 65# braid. I use the Yum A rigs also. Get you a pack of Berkley minnow baits if you are fishing areas without timber because they have an exposed hook. They are internally weighted and the plastic is very tough so they don't tear up easily. If you have 2 A rigs that is perfect because you can get 2 packages of the Berkley baits 5 to a pack. I put 4 of the same color on one and on the middle wire I use a different color. That way you can set up both A-rigs.
I use a 5.4-1 Lews reel and it works perfectly. I have caught double and triples on this bait. Those that have trouble throwing this bait need to go work out more. It isn't that difficult to do and you can catch a lot of fish on it.

One rod, one reel, 1 spool of braid, 2 A rigs, 2 packs of Berkley minnow baits and lots of fish to show for it. It was worth it for me. I throw it quite a bit for largemouth and sand bass.

The Shimano A-rig rod that I use is rated 1-3oz

When it’s on, if you’re not throwing it you’re donating. I would say on the typical winter tournament it’s added at least 6 pounds to the winning 5 fish bags around here, and that was way before livescope came out.

No hate for the purpose.

The Berkley baits are a great idea.
I’ve got a 7’ 6” rod I use for small swimbaits that should do the trick. Also some heavier 8 footers if need be. I’ll start short and work my way up depending on how it goes.
