Panther Martin spinners and look for jumpy water next to calm, ripples next to calm water. Cast it above the ripples and work it all the way through the calm water.
Works on our trout anyway.
They will also come out from under moss if lure works along side of the cover. Undercut banks also hold hiding trout.

tried exactly that. the stocked trout are fed on artificial pellets. They don't really know how to hunt

N. D. L. - if you haven't already found it... Here is a TX Parks and Wildlife page with locations where stocked trout will be released. canned or frozen kernel corn or salmon egg Yellow/orange power bait. Bass Pro Shop/ Academy Sports and Outdoors will sell the powerboat and hooks. use small hooks. #8 to #12 hooks. A spit shot for weight. I use ultra light gear with 6lb fluorocarbon line.

There are also trout fishing guides on the Guadalupe River. I don't know how much.

good luck.

use woolly buggers, the color doesn't matter. Throw in deeper water or shadows when it's light out, and in the shallows when it's near sunrise/sunset.
