I picked up a new Lowrance HDS 9 Gen 3 to replace my old Gen 1 HDS 7. The HDS 7 is mounted with a smaller 1.5" ram mount. I was wondering what everyone uses. Should I stay with the ram mount but go with a 2.25" ball or should I go with a deck mount riser. I do not have recessed trolling motor pedal

I got one of these from bass pro and it works great for my garmin 93sv, have one over the recessed foot control and this one just behind it. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-lockdown-marine-electronics-mountthis one is aluminum they also have a plastic one for a lot cheaper, I went with aluminum due to being right where I board the boat and I can be clumsy at times.

Hope,
I like the look of that mount and I too would option for the aluminum version. That looks good though.
