I picked up a new Lowrance HDS 9 Gen 3 to replace my old Gen 1 HDS 7. The HDS 7 is mounted with a smaller 1.5" ram mount. I was wondering what everyone uses. Should I stay with the ram mount but go with a 2.25" ball or should I go with a deck mount riser. I do not have recessed trolling motor pedal

I got one of these from bass pro and it works great for my garmin 93sv, have one over the recessed foot control and this one just behind it.

this one is aluminum they also have a plastic one for a lot cheaper, I went with aluminum due to being right where I board the boat and I can be clumsy at times.

Hope,

I like the look of that mount and I too would option for the aluminum version. That looks good though.
