hello everyone!

Looking to get a second fly rod that my dad can use-this ones going to be a little lighter compared to my current 8wt and would probably be my go-to rod when I'm not targeting bigger fish like carp or gar. I'd love some recommendations for rods under 100$

I'm currently looking at the Cabela's/white river bighorn outfit which I've found for 79$ (limited edition seems to be the same as the regular with a red reel)

I'd prefer going in-store to purchase a rod around Dallas, if that narrows down options.

Thanks, Danial

Look at TFO's website, they are in Dallas and you can pick up there.

Call Barlow's to see what they have in stock.

Check Bass Pro as well.

Echo makes a nice rod for $100, but have to order it.

I have fished several of the Cabelas/Bass Pro combos and they work great for most applications. The Bighorn combo you mentioned looks like a great deal. You may want to look at the White River line as a comparison. https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/white-river-fly-shop-dogwood-canyon-outfit I use a 6/7 wt for almost all of my freshwater fly fishing in Texas, but a lighter rod will work on most of the fish. Good luck and let us know what you decide. thumb

I have two of the Redington Crosswater combos. I paid around $115 for each of them. No complaints here. Both have got a ton of fish.
