How do ya'll keep from losing deep divers so often? I bring those "pocket knocker" things that slide on your line to pop the deep diving crankbait out of whatever it's caught in, but I still find myself losing at least 1-2 every outing when I'm fishing points with timber.

Switch out the front hook to a double hook. With the prongs pointed towards the lure body.

Get a better lure knocker, but you’re still gonna lose some. I use the hound dog lure knocker tied onto a marker buoy rope.

Reel tip point at bait don't drag rod when you hit something pause I don't loose many crankbaits

I have a pool cleaning pole with a giant rats nest of heavy braided line, a grappling hook made out of a 1.5lb folding anchor, and a lure retriever from bass pro. The lure retriever works very well, and if that doesn't get it, I try and pull the brush up (if it's planted). The lure retriever will save you allot of money. I installed Paracord to the lure retriever to beef up the strength.

Do you have pictures of the lure retriever? And are you all fishing from the boat when you use the lure retriever?

You’re going to lose a lot of cranks throwing a deep diver from the bank.

I don't....lol

Jokes aside though, most days I anticipate breaking off at least one bait when I'm cranking deep structure.

Thats my money fish

Yep...exactly the one I've been using for more than 10 years to save swimbaits and crankbaits
