Bury the body on one side of your property and the head on the other side. Killing a snake creates a predator void and explains the old saying “if you kill snakes, expect to be covered up in snakes.” Do whatever you can to encourage any king snake populations in your area and especially encourage them to be neighbors. They’re going to be the predators that copperheads want to avoid… and they also eat the same things as copperheads so you don’t have a predator void.

I do not like copperheads -- been surprised too many times! I like to see rat snakes and king snakes around my house. They take care of the gophers, starlings and sparrows as well as the mice.
