Funny you say this...all of my past relationships have been with "tomboy" girls. They were all get dirty, outdoors, hunting, fishing, etc. type of girls. It helps if you enjoy the same things and can do them together. But it became too much...we both needed new toys ($$$), spent all of our time talking about it, and shared every friend which made for some interesting conversations when we hit rocky patches.

Flash forward to now. The Mrs and I have been together for 10 years and are opposites. She enjoys crafts, baking, basically many of the girly things. She freaks at lizards, snakes, bugs, etc. She's not an outdoors person that you see wanting to camp in the wilderness and go hunting. She likes to glamp. AHAHAHAH So now, I get to enjoy the outdoors alone most of the time.

I think think this is helping us by allowing us time away so we're not side by side every waking minute.

My wife was a girly girl when I met her. She had never been fishing, hunting , camping or had anything to do with the outdoors. That all changed once she met me. We are best friends, we are literally together 24 hrs a day. We work together managing ranches and she works just as hard as I do running a bobcat, filling feeders, and even doing fencing work. She can outwork most men I know

We are deep into the Pussification of America era. I hate it for my grandkids.
