I've got the cheapest inflatables I can buy, so that I can have more room to store more stuff. I don't wear them ever! Just an FYI. Those cheap inflatables don't count as a PFD when the game warden stops you unless you're wearing it.

Or you can have a regular life jacket buried in the bottom of a rod box and be ok. Doesn’t make sense, but it’s how it is.

Just upgrade to mustang ACCEL100. Wife feels safer and that’s what really matters.

I have not researched this but I thought you had to have regular life jackets for everyone in the boat no matter what, even if you have the inflatables. I have both, normally only wear the inflatables in the warmer months.

Just depends on the label and what you buy. Most have the "if worn" disclaimer, some don't. It depends on the warden you get as to whether they'll question any further than showing the inflatable sitting in the driver's seat.

Type III inflatable during the warmer months, but a full jacket in the colder months, just in case - a little extra help and insulation

If fishing by myself I wear the Mustang HIT 100% of the time when the water gets cold and hypothermia. If it’s crazy rough then when running I always wear the normal vest. I figure the rib and other protection is not a bad thing to have. Always have 3 normal vest in the boat.

The black life jackets from Ranger are very nice. They have the usual logos but works for me since our boat is a ranger. Bought them at the Ranger shop online.
