When the MLF started I picked 10 of my favorites to "follow: and Ish Monroe is one of them, And like someone posted he has done very little.

With his poor record except for a special now and then probably has left him with little hope to win some serious money. But then when he was in BASS it wasn't much better.

Hate to see him go.

He wins pretty often back home on the West Coast. In addition he is not hurting for cash either.

He had some good runs @ MLF but they were few and far between. One tournament in particular they fish in Louisiana, an area just west Natchez, Mississippi. They fished Bruin, St. John, and Larto and he killed them on St,John flippin a jig @ cypress trees, if I remember right, wound up winning that round, but Tak gave him a run at the end but couldn't catch him.

Ish has 9 tournament wins since he began his professional career and over 2.4 million tournament winnings to date.
Really don't know for sure, but I doubt very seriously if he's hurting for money. Just to be ale to compete on that level for as many years as he has demands a certain level of financial security. I haven't been following his career lately but I figured he was relevant and a huge draw on the west coast tournament scene as someone else said above.

That comment someone made about the 40's and 50''s and the southeast was hilarious.

He’s most definitely not hurting, he was talking about how he cooks these super expensive steaks on a podcast a year or so ago. Those high dollar steaks that are like $100 each.

There is a video on his home and shop. Pretty nice place. He owns an offshore boat too.

Ish does well. Talked to a few who know him personally and they stated he has a few pans in the fire. He fishes professionally because he loves the sport of it. He like all pros have their up / downs. I'd like to see the Ish of the old come back in BASS. He was a force to be reckoned with on certain bodies of water.

I just hope he makes it back to the elites. It would suck to find out it’s harder now than it was 15 years ago to qualify.

That path through the Opens looks incredibly tough for sure.

That’s exactly how you end up hurting for money…
