I'm glad I don't creek fish, I will stick with my ole trusty main river channel, Has less effect on them there fishies If you haven’t been creek fishing, you won’t know what you are missing I have done a lot of creek fishing back in the day, I just think the main river channels produce lot better quality fish at least for me.

River channel does produce better quality it seems. I would rather catch a 12 inch fish on a jig and bobber in the creek than a 2 pounder in a boat on the main river channel. Everyone has their preferences for sure. The main river channel bite in my area doesn’t really produce like out east so maybe that’s why I gravitate towards the creek bite too

[quote=Liebers Dad]yeah was at still house last weekend. gin clear and REALLY low. even up river was pretty clear water. lost of grass and at least you can get a boat on it[/quote ,grass is taking over that lake..for some reason the hydrilla is growing like crazy.. dont know what changed, its always been a deep, volatile , clear lake with poor nutrient inflow. more sunlight penetration perhaps? things are changing right before out eyes. its happening all over the world.. makes u wonder where all the water is. 3 lakes in central texas are over 10 feet below normal pool.. thats ALOT of water... It seems that we go through years of floods and years of droughts. Last few years have been flood years and now we are back in drought years. The real question is now, when does this end and we get rain. I would think spring would be the best time. October is generally a pretty rainy month

My whole group of lakes I fish are super low. Aquila especially. That lake is so low it barely reaches the top of the water outlet at the dam. The entire Aquila creek arm past the powerlines is dry. It is hundreds of yards to water from where I caught fish last year.

TreeBass, you're speaking my language now! Me and my buddies call it a "cast & blast". So much fun. We actually set up a couple of rods for catfish while we're calling ducks. We usually catch a couple of fish during the duck hunt and then, on the way out, we jig fish the brush piles in the deeper holes towards the mouth of the creek. We've had days that we smacked the crappie. The only problem with the catfishing during the hunt is, when you have a hard takedown on a pole at the exact same time that you're working a group of birds. It all just depends on the hunt. If you're heavy into birds, you grab the rod. If the birds are few and far between, you just have to let the rod bounce. I guess I need to figure out how to attach a jerk line to my rod and we'll kill two birds with one stone. Almost literally LOL!

TreeBass, you're speaking my language now! Me and my buddies call it a "cast & blast". I think you were talking to me. I have had a few cast and blast weekends already this hunting season, not on the same day, but dove hunting Saturday and crappie fishing on Sunday. But I do plan do to duck hunt and crappie fish this year, probably more when I'm out scouting for ducks, I'll do some crappie fishing as well. Or after I duck hunt do some fishing, I do a lot of duck hunting and camping. Looks like we are getting some good rain today in NTX, hope we get a good run off!

I like the low water conditions. I don't have to worry about the boaters going up the creeks I fish lol.

As Anthony said in his video, we need a lot of rain. The rain we got so far has not even moved the needle. Well maybe a little bit, but not much!!

The fish will still do their thing Not if there is dry land in between them and where they want to go ture, but it doesn't take much for them to get through.
