dead sticking is in full swing. Well over 50 fish today dead sticking with an occasional twitch of the rod tip. Nothing big but very few shorts. All along the river channel. The fish in shallower water that are running the edge of the channel are really aggressive

How far north up the lake are you finding them? I’m in a kayak so launch point is key. 🤣

What ramp are you using? Been wanting to try Whitney but at 7 feet low
wasn't sure where to launch.

Good Luck,
Bozz

We caught a few deadsticking Texoma yesterday. Bubblegum or silver grey flukes on 1oz jigheads from 35-45 feet. We were using a thumper at medium speed and a sock to drift about .7 mph.

Were the fish in a particular reason or traveling to a known ambush spot staging ??

We had been using bait on the edge of the flat and had loaded up. We cut the spot lock off and tried deadsticking there but didn’t pick up any. We moved to the deep water and saw bait and fish and tried there with no luck. We threw out a sock to slow down and moved onto the flat at about 45’ and the fish turned on. We used the thumper to keep fish under the boat and we were covered the whole time but the bites were sporadic…. 2-3!bites then nothing then 2-3 more.

Two common threads found here out west. Moving and thumping. Moving or drifting with wind, direction being key and thumping , a must in water 30 and up. Small jig on bottom with a 3 foot tag line to increase the pendulum affect, especially useful when pulling fish out of tree tops !!

I like the two hook combo, that is my preferred technique…. I also put stinger hooks on everything!
