I had/have a Bass Pro Squaltex rain coat and coveralls. The rain coat blew out of my boat on the way back from Caddo last year. It works great until you have to wash this stuff. Lesson learned, don't put it in a washing machine. The coat had gotten mud on it and I'd sweated in it so much it stunk to high heaven. After I washed it it was worthless, rain soaked straight through. The zipper broke on the coat a little over a year after I got it but it had snap buttons for a back up. Would I recommend this gear? No..............

I'll be watching this one too. I've got a super heavy duty name brand rain coat of some kind I was given from work recetntly but unless its below 50 degrees and raining it's pretty much unwearable. I'd like something light and breathable for spring showers. popcorn

I have been very impressed with my Frogg Togg jacket I got pretty inexpensive from Academy.

Wore it recently on a five day trip to Colorado. We were tent camping and trying to fish. It rained most the time. Heavy assed cold rain. Got to test it again while bass fishing here locally a few days ago. There was a good amount of moderate rain. Jacket proved light weight and kept me dry. How long will it hold up? Dont know. So far I am impressed. It would meet your need for something a bit more breathable and light.

Simms Challenger has worked well for me. Warm weather I have a Simms light gore tex jacket I brought on close out more than 10 years ago and North Face Hyvent pants.

I bought a set of frog toggs once and they were the worst rain suit I ever bought. Maybe they are better now, but the ones I bought were trash.

Fortunately I don't enjoy fishing in the rain...cheap $5 poncho .

I watch weather forecast and have not fished in rain while on my boat since 2008....I fish 15 days a month minimum......keep a $5 poncho on the boat.

Simms pro guide. It's ultra-thin so it's tolerable to wear in texas heat. It's the finest raincoat ever made in my opinion. Buy it, take care of it, and you should get a lifetime or something close to that out of it. Be warned, it's a receipt you are going to have to hide from the wife though.

I have a set of the Huk gear and I haven’t had a single problem out of it yet. Been in snow, sleet, and rain with it and it’s held up nice. You can get it for a really good price at Lake Fork Resort too!

I bought a used set that were 5 years old and they are life changing. The day they falter I’m ordering a set brand new. I also have Simms Challenger Insulated suit that is will keep you comfortable, warm, and dry in the cold months.

Well after trying some on and getting really lucky to catch a sale I've got a Simms CX suit on the way. Should be here Monday.
