What happened to the 21' rule you were babbling about a few months ago? Unless your "special" math makes 3 yards 21".....10' with a machete, you'll be sliced up a bit.

Put the pipe down.
I'm impressed you're such a fan that you hang on every word I've ever written. But no, not interested in any sort of romance.

In CONTEXT what you refer to is in most self defense classes, they take a person 21' feet away and see if you can react before they are on top of you. If you're going to use my words against me, at least get it right.

I did.

The reviewed pistol comes in .357 Sig, .40S&W, and 9mm, so why limit the question to 9mm?

Further, what are the odds of encountering that specific risk assessment? Do we really need to focus our gear on a six sigma risk?

Doubtful, more likely a 40 year review of the P229.

The detective I bought my gun from who also taught CC course stated the average assault for women happens less then 5’ and men it’s less than 15’ because people who will attack are mostly cowards
I think Pat is pretty spot on when saying learn to protect yourself from 15’ or less so you are ready regardless of distance

.357 Sig, .40 S&W and .45 ACP are fake news. 9mm all the way.

I have the Sig 229 M11-A1. The most accurate pistol I have personally shot.

This is the six sigma threat you mentioned.

This sounds good in theory but for 99% of people in real like situations, including police officers and combat veterans , this is almost impossible if surprised, very few can do it within 9-10ft. I don’t care what caliber your carrying
. Very doable if gun is drawn and you know an attack is coming, and said 6’7 dude wouldn’t get close to 9 ft.

Run like hell while you're getting your gun out, I learnt that in Zombieland

At 6'7" he (or she) would already be under my observation for any nefarious intent...although at 6'2" I've found the little people are the most aggressive.

I have a Sig p225 and p365xl in 9mm for carry. I'm comfortable in my situation awareness capabilities and if they come out of nowhere a bigger gun will also be of little use.
