Shimano Sienna 5 or 10 for panfish. You don't need an expensive reel for pan fish as they are not going to take a lot of line or test your drag. Anything over $31 is a waste of money. Agree, used one for a wacky setup for bass and it performed perfectly and I still use it for crappie and light bass stuff. ` exactly,...sold at walmart

I need to pull apart a KastKing 500 centron. The handle has a bit of play. I believe it's loose tolerance bearings. It's currently residing on a 5' UglyStik Lite Pro, ultralight. 8# braid with a 6# mono leader.. I also have the same UglyStik but in 6'6" long. Same ultralight.
Next up is a Daiwa Ballistic 1000. On a medium fast 6'8" Shimano Sellus. The ballistic is an ok reel. Kinda noisy.
But then again, everything is being unfairly compared to a Shimano Stella 2500 on a St Croix. My main rig.
The play in the handle of the KastKing isn't that big of deal but you can feel the wobble on the retrieve....

For decades, I used a vintage Garcia Mitchell 408 on a 6' UglyStik, medium heavy, early 2000's vintage. 15# mono string. Never wanted or desired a modern reel.
This rig was my main, do anything, go anywhere. It especially worked in creeks and rivers. It'll cast ok. Nothing that surprise you. From bass to catfish. It's fed me on many occasions. It survived 2 divorces.
Bearings in a reel? Why? Grease and bushings always worked perfect for me.
Until I figured out that my time is ticking. That's when I went all out and bought the Shimano Stella 2500. I've felt sensations I never felt before. You can actually feel a soft plastic swim bait, flop it's tail. It almost feels like cheating.
.......
The other day, I looked up prices for the same reel I have. Same condition. ~$100(?)

The Stella doesn't get laid down on bare metal. Or rocks. Absolutely an incredible thing of a spinning reel. It matches the vintage Mitchell.
