You are supposed to wax your boat? Wow! Who would have thunk.

So the Meguires ceramic spray-on says spray-on and rinse off, no rubbing required. Thoughts on how effective this really is? it works like that, did the truck first and spray on rinse off but now I wipe it on then rinse to be sure I got it all.

I know there are now specialized waxes out there for boats but back in the day anything high end from the automotive world with carnauba in it worked excellent and was the only thing I found back then that would stay on the boat over one trip to the lake or one washing. I used paste wax and it was usually either Meguier's Gold Class or Mother's California Gold. I still use either of these waxes about every 3 months and then in between after every trip when I get home I rinse my boat and wipe it dry and then hit it with Meguiier's Quick Wax, just spray it on, wipe it in, and then buff it with a dry towel. The whole process takes about 30 minutes, this includes rinsing and drying. When and if you get ready to trade or sell your wallet will thank you for it. For you new guys; with fiberglass gelcoat finishes, the slicker they are the more bullet proof they are to limb and stump scratches. Rocks and metal obviously NOT, but you don't have to worry so much about getting in the timber to get to some fish. Waxing will help some what on the motor but a motor cover is the best route there.
