Hey guys I haven't posted in a while but I came back to this forum because I'm a noob when it comes to white bass fishing but am pretty decent at catching stripers as I've fished for them in NYC. Here's what I have to ask, I unfortunately don't have a photo but I caught a 15 in white bass in a creek system that branches from Granger lake, about 5 miles away from the lake, the first thing that surprised me was that it's not spawning/breeding season and it was 15 in. Why wasn't this fellow in the lake, and don't they travel in schools? If they travel in schools does that mean there's probably more where I caught it? Also, if it was a hybrid where did it come from, maybe lake George town? (I ask about it being a hybrid because it looked like a hybrid from pictures posted online.)

Thanks, Isaac H.

They follow the shad and alot of the shad go way up creeks this time of year. There are white bass in the creeks way before they spawn and some in the creeks all year long
