I have used Daiwa's for the past 40 years. I love the Tatula series. I did buy a new 13 Fishing rod/reel combo and I was highly impressed with their baitcaster. It was their lower end units call the Blackout series but they are great and the reel will cast as good as the Daiwa Tatula at 1/2 the cost. I may buy more of the 13 fishing reels if this one holds up as I suspect it will..

I know I'm probably in the minority here but the Metaniums simply do not hold enough line for my preference. They are great reels but if you load them with 20# mono or flo not so much. I like the wider Curado K's for this reason. I keep hearing good things about Lews but haven't tried a new one yet. To me the metanium just doesnt seem like a reel for that type of fishing. I use them for jerk baits and top water. I think the bantam seems more suited for the bigger line stuff. Plus it has stronger drag

Don't let that magnesium frame fool you, its plenty strong for flipping/pitching with 20# fluro.
