Should people over 60 years of age start having their drivers license revoked, vehicle taken from them, and have any and all driving privileges canceled ?

It's not age, it's more about physical abilities.

I'm more worried about some lame-brained 16 year old kid texting and driving than I am the elderly.

This.. I am 58 and I drive as well as or better than most drivers on the road. Unless something happens to me physically by then, why should my license be revoked in two years?

It’s all fun and games talking about taking the keys away from “over 60’s” until you are over 60. I will make the decision when to hang the keys up.

Mom 92 still driving, grocery store and pharmacy just blocks away, longer drives to the big city / Doctor office sis or me take her.

The problem I see with that is that old people do not know when its time.
With my parents and my wifes parents as the examples I know of, one knew when to quit. The others all had to be told.
My next older brother went home to take care of mom and dad in their last years. We had to have a talk with my dad when my brother told me that dad was driving 45 mph on I10 heading to San Antonio from Seguin. Mom just quit although she always was the second driver, just wanting to ride if someone else could drive.
My wife's parents both had to have their keys confiscated. Both had dents and events that preceded it to show they got to them too late.

Slippery slope. I believe a close family member should be able to request an examination for those that are possibly dangerous.
