Not much publicity around this one, but the local fly fishing association - Laguna Madre Fly Fishing Association - is having a tournament next weekend on the Lower Laguna Madre.
It looks like a good time, and winners get a Larry Haines painting - his work is scheduled to be in the new shop in Port Isabel.

Fly fishing tournaments seem to have become more rare since COVID, or is it just me thinking that? Anyway, this one has a spot for ladyfish, and I can catch those already! They keep my hope alive.
