Hey all. Finally got a smallmouth. Didn't know they were in this stretch of river but as soon as I hooked into it I knew it wasn't a largemouth. Lots of headshakes and wouldn't come to the surface.

Sixteen and a quarter long and 2lbs 7 ounces. Not bad for first one.

Congratulations! Smallies are fun to catch since they are ferocious fighters. Definitely feel different. Beautiful fish.

I've never caught a Smallmouth, and I'm dying to, soon!

I don't know if there are any places to catch them in or near the DFW area.

Smallmouth are pound for pound more aggressive and aerobatic than Largemouth. They can put on a show for sure.
