Very good marlin fishing also few sailfish and few blue marlin from the Lighthouse to Los Arcos on bait and lures, we caught and released 3 marlin on Sunday, 1 on Tuesday, 1 Sailfish on Wednesday and 1 on Thursday, on the other days we saw many marlins but they didn't want to bite.

Red hot, wide open, all the fish you want, we've been catching the limit everyday,
most of them between 10 Lb to 25 Lb at the Lighthouse and Los Arcos on lures.

Very few reports of tuna.

Starting to show, we caught a 25 Lb Wahoo on Friday.

No reports.

Very few skipjacks on hoochies.

See you all in Cabo - JC.

Jc’s Sportfishing Charters is a family owned and operated business and has been fishing in Cabo San Lucas for the past 18 years. Jerry, explains that his charter business is geared more for families and novice anglers, making sure everyone who charters a boat with him have a great time and lots of fun. We welcome families, and groups. We want everyone who fishes with us to take all the sites in and have a memorable experience. This is what is most important to us. We have and do a few tournaments each year and can cater to fisherman who might be interested in tournament fishing. Well let’s get on with the fishing report for this past week.

Peruvian-Style Mahi Mahi Recipe

2 mahi mahi fillets
sea salt
2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
1/2 red onion
2 tomatoes
2 cloves garlic
2 Tbsp ají amarillo - or sambal oelek
1/4 cup fish broth - or any other broth
1 Tbsp white wine vinegar
cilantro for garnish

1. Take fish out of the fridge about 20 minutes befor it hits the pan so it isn't too cold. Season with sea salt and pepper on both sides, then cover with flour all over and set aside.
2. Cut onion into thick stripes. Half tomatoes, deseed, and cut into equally thick stipes. Crush garlic.
3. Preheat a pan over medium heat and once hot add a generous amount of avocado oil.
4. Add the floured fish to the hot oil and fry for 3-4 minutes per side depending on the thickness, until it's golden brown. Remove from the pan and keep warm.
5. Add onions to the leftover oil and stir-fry until starting to soften. At this point add ají amarillo and crushed garlic and sauté for another minute or so.
6. Add tomatoes and fish broth and stir for 1 minute, then add vinegar, give one last stir and serve onion tomato mix over mahi mahi.
7. Sprinkle with fresh cilantro and enjoy.

Pink Grapefruit Margaritas

1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
8 Thai basil sprigs
Zest of 1 lemon, peeled in 3-inch strips
Zest of 1 orange, peeled in 3-inch strips
2 bottles chilled Pinot Grigio
3/4 cup brandy
1/2 cup fresh orange juice, strained
Chilled club soda
12 thin orange slices, for garnish

1. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water and bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Add the basil sprigs and lemon and orange zests. Let the syrup stand, stirring often, until cooled to room temperature, about 20 minutes. Discard the basil sprigs and zest strips.

2. In a large pitcher, combine the basil syrup with the wine, brandy and orange juice. Pour the sangria into ice-filled glasses, top with club soda and garnish each drink with an orange slice.

BEWARE: Please beware of the guys in the street selling boat charters. If you wait till the day you are fishing and go to the dock where your boat is many times people will mislead you to another boat or dock trying to put you on a boat that was not meant for you. You need to have a person guide you to your boat, who is from a reputable charter company. This way there is no confusion or misleading. Please remember when renting Sport fishing boats in Cabo that you rent your boat from reputable and established business. Walk into a fishing fleet office and ask questions about what you are getting and what are the costs. You don't want to rent boats from vendors in the streets and you do not want to book through shady websites offering you the world. Check through travel forums about reputable fishing fleets to deal with. Look for testimonials about the fleet your booking, your charter with. Ask about what will the boat be supplying? Will it include beverages or lunches? How much does it cost to fillet your catch? Check to see if charter boat is insured? Ask about getting your catch smoked? Check cost of a fishing license. These are just a few things to consider when booking your charter boat. We will be talking more about this in the next weeks fishing report. Until next time good fishing and we hope to see you in Cabo soon. Come by the office here in Cabo and get all the latest up to date fishing report.
